The following is a regularly-updated list of equipment and services provided through Studio M. Most equipment may be checked out for a limited period of time, just come by during regular hours.

Services may be provided by full-time staff, or by student employees. Service requests that fall outside normal operating hours and involve our students will need to accommodate class and study schedules.

  • Credit-Card Computers: Raspberry Pi, Beaglebone Black
  • Microcontrollers: Arduino Mega, Arduino Uno, MaKey MaKey, Wave and Motor shield kits for Arduino
  • Cloud-Connected Sensors: Ninja Block, Twine
  • Circuits: Little Bits Deluxe and Smarthome kits, Othermill, basic electronic components
  • Code/Soft Computing: Arduino, Processing, Scratch, JavaScript, Swift, Python
  • Computing: OS X and Windows workstations
  • Control Interfaces: LeapMotion USB, MaKey MaKey
  • Soft Circuits/Textiles: Full fabric/textile kit including needles, pins, knitting needles, crochet hooks, thread, conductive thread, conductive fabric, sewing machine, and Adafruit Lillypad Arduino boards
  • Cameras: GoPro Hero 4 Black with chest and head straps, GoPro Hero 3 cameras, including drone-mounted unit, Lytro lightfield camera
  • Basic Tools: Core shop tools including hammers, screwdrivers, saws, clamps, measuring tools, pliers, flush cutters, drills, wrenches, knives, picks, hex keys, Torx drivers, drill press, rotary toolkit, etc.
  • Assorted Materials: Wood blocks, sticks, construction paper, cardboard, steel wool, glues and tapes, lubricants, 3D printing filaments in a vaiety of colors, acrylics and woods for cutting.
  • 3D Printing: MakerBot Replicator 5th Generation (x2), Afinia Model H
  • 3D Scanning: Matter & Form compact 3D scanner
  • Prototyping: OpenBeam, LEGO bricks, LEGO Digital Designer software, breadboards and assorted electronic components
  • Fabrication: Epilog Zing 16 laser engraver/cutter (bring your own materials or we can provide), Othermill desktop milling/carving machine
  • Aerial Tools: DJI Phantom II quadcopter with 2-axis gimbal and GoPro
  • Robotics: Parallax Arduino-controlled robotics platform
  • Music: Tabletop for iPad, iOS MIDI interfaces, other software for mobile music development
  • Resource Directories: directories for finding additional resources such as 3D printing services, machining and production services, local hackerspaces, development guides, etc.
  • Instruction and Ideas: A variety of books on hacks, making and systems are available, as well as an extensive library of MAKE magazine editions (the College library also subscribes to MAKE), training available for all major equipment, as well as basic instruction in TinkerCad and OpenSCAD.
